Sometimes in a mediation, we’re asked, “Whose side are you on?!” The answer is: neither, we stand with all. A “win” in mediation is all parties choosing to move forward. Period.

After 6,000+ mediations and 25+ years in the workers’ comp field, we’ve compiled the following list of criteria that cases which are ripe for mediation meet.

Choosing one’s “tomorrow” is at the heart of our mediation philosophy. While what we do can seem very legal and dry, the truth is, we see our role as workers’ comp mediators as much more than facilitators of the legal process.

Mediation leverages the benefits of face-to-face communication. At Prism, we know that engaging in direct, personal communication can improve trust, streamline resolution, and ultimately increase the chances of closing the case in a fair and timely manner— the goal of all involved in a workers’ comp dispute.

When it comes to the seasons of life, we seem to struggle more with letting go of old tools and picking up new ones that function more appropriately in the new seasons we enter.

We think a lot about “ROI” in business. But I fear we’ve taken this “ROI” mentality into the real world both unnecessarily and to our detriment.

Most definitely, I hope you and others are doing well, but in addition, I hope we are all doing good where and how we can.
